GET CHIPPED!

Is your pet microchipped?

What if you lost him?

What if the collar broke?

What if the worst happened and no-one knew who to tell?

Every day dogs and cats get handed into rescue centres in pretty good condition, clearly cared for, obviously loved by someone but maybe a long way from their own area where the distraught owner may have put up posters and informed the police and dog warden. There is no organised way of communicating between areas so their posters may never be seen by the right people.

With a microchip they are much more likely to be scanned and quickly reunited with you.

Implantation is a simple, quick and painless procedure.

We can do it as part of a daycare/home-boarding visit or you can come to us or we can come to you

NOTE:

Whilst many dog wardens, police officers, vets , rescues will routinely scan for microchips, it is not obligatory and some don’t so please support Dolly’s Directive, which campaigns to make it law that all animal professionals presented with a stray animal, or the remains of one, should scan for a chip so that an owner who has bothered to be traceable can be traced. surely it’s not too much to ask????

IF YOU LOSE YOUR DOG OR CAT:

Have your chip number, general description of your animal and a good photo to hand

  1. 1)contact both your local police and dog warden

  2. 2)contact any local rescues you know of

  3. 3)contact Doglost.co.uk

  4. 4)contact the breed rescue, via the Kennel Club, or any rescues for your particular crossbreed.

  5. 5)Tell your vet, any other vets you can reach, pet shops, groomers, anywhere that will let you put up a card or poster.

  6. 6)If you think your dog has been stolen, consider whether there is a local business that may have picked something up on their CCTV - do this quickly as some delete every day or so. They are not obliged to show you anything but most are willing to help if you explain your suspicions. Ask them to supply the police with a copy if you do see anything suspicious and, if possible, take the police a copy yourself and insist that they take it seriously. Ask the company not to delete it in case the police want to view the original.
